Mediation is confidential, quick, inexpensive and importantly, YOU are in control. If you have a dispute to sort out or a disagreement to resolve, let McLean Stone help you get a resolution.
Conflicts and disputes happen. They're normal, inevitable to some extent, and can sometimes be hard to deal with. However, most of the time, we can sort things out by talking, listening, compromising and collaborating.
It's when we become stuck in a dispute, that things can become very stressful, costly (if it involves a legal dispute) and time consuming.
Mediation, or Alternative Dispute Resolution is a dynamic, structured, interactive process where a neutral third party assists disputing parties in resolving conflict through the use of specialized communication and negotiation techniques. All participants in mediation are encouraged to actively participate in the process. It enables all parties to have a frank, open and facilitated discussion, in confidence and without prejudice, to find an outcome that works for all.
Mediation is usually resolved in one day and at a time agreed by both sides to the dispute. Court action can take months and is scheduled by the courts and lawyers.
The existence of the mediation and its contents are confidential. This preserves privacy, commercially sensitive information and full legal rights.
Settlement is only reached when both parties agree to it, facilitated by the mediator. Neither party can have an outcome imposed upon them.
